South Carolina Speaks

Focus on Domestic Violence

South Carolina ETV and Public Radio (SCETV) are participating in a yearlong partnership with the South Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (SCCADVASA) on an initiative called South Carolina Speaks: Focus on Domestic Violence. SCETV and SCCADVASA will work together to raise awareness and educate the public over the next year through multiplatform coverage.

Through this partnership, SCETV will feature news stories, television and radio programming, and special events that explore the impact of domestic violence and sexual assault on individuals, families and communities in South Carolina. Coverage will also spotlight resources and support available to survivors, while uplifting the work of organizations across the state that provide critical services.

As the collective voice for prevention and advocacy in South Carolina, SCCADVASA provides training, resources, and policy guidance to strengthen services for survivors. Its 22 member organizations offer hotlines, free and confidential advocacy, safety planning, emergency shelter, counseling and other critical support for survivors, their children and families.

Programming and coverage related to the partnership will be featured across SCETV’s television, radio, digital and social platforms throughout the year. Additional information will be available on the SCETV website and sccadvasa.org.
