Goldenrod

September 18, 2017 - Posted in Making it Grow by Sean Flynn

Solidago, commonly called goldenrods, is a genus of about 100 to 120 species of flowering plants in the aster family, Asteraceae. There are about 30 of those different species in South Carolina. The curator of the University of South Carolina's A.C. Moore Herbarium, Dr. John Nelson, visits us at "Making It Grow" and shares with us some of the specimens they have collected.
