2017 Carolina Yard of the Year Winner

October 16, 2017 - Posted in Making it Grow by Sean Flynn

For this segment on "Making It Grow", Clemson Extension Water Resources Agent Terasa Lott visits the home of Lyn Pesterfield in Boiling Springs, SC. Lyn’s transformation of her yard won her the first ever "Carolina Yard of the Year Contest”. This contest set out to recognize excellence in environmentally friendly landscaping. Contestants were asked to fill out a Carolina Yards Scorecard, to send a narrative explaining why they value environmentally friendly landscaping and to provide photo and/or video documentation of the yard. Lyn did a great job with this and the hope is that this will inspire more landscapes to be Carolina Yards.
