SCETV debuts our SCETV PBS Kids Channel, a brand new 24/7 channel dedicated to our youngest viewers. The SCETV PBS Kids Channel is available via antenna at our .4 channel position, and on select cable outlets. It will feature award-winning favorites such as Arthur, Wild Kratts, and Clifford the Big Red Dog, and will also be available online. Viewers will be able to watch the new channel as a live stream through pbskids.org and on the PBS KIDS Video App, which is available on a variety of mobile devices, tablets and over-the-top platforms such as Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Xbox One and Chromecast. Following its initial launch, the live stream experience will expand to offer an integrated games feature, enabling children to toggle between a PBS KIDS show and an activity that extends learning—all in one seamless digital experience. In addition, ETVHD will continue its Monday–Friday daytime schedule of children’s programming.
This month, Ken Burns’ long-awaited series The Vietnam War tales an unprecedented look at this turbulent period in our nation’s history. The 10-part documentary includes interviews with those who participated in it as well as those who opposed it, with archival footage and musical recordings from artists of the era.
Our own Man and Moment series offers a new special: Steve Flaherty—A Voice Returned. The program explores how unsent letters from an American soldier killed in Vietnam finally arrived home more than 40 years later, becoming the first official exchange of war artifacts between the two countries.
As the school year gets going, so does our Carolina Classrooms series, a look at key educational initiatives in the state. This month, Making College Affordable welcomes financial aid professionals who give advice on applying for and financing college.
As always, thank you for your valued support.
