Dear Viewers and Listeners:
This spring we are excited to offer new seasons of some popular series. Call the Midwife begins its sixth season, now set in 1962. The Poplar medics are adjusting to the changing times, facing challenges as they strive to help mothers cope with the demands of childbearing. Season two of Home Fires opens in June of 1940, and follows a group of women in an English village who must rely on one another during World War II.
New this month is an American Experience offering, The Great War. This ambitious three-part series uses personal stories of African-American soldiers, feminist activists, Native American “code-talkers,” and others to explore how WWI transformed America. And the always-popular Great Performances at the Met presents a favorite: Romeo et Juliette, a La Scala production reuniting Vittorio Grigolo and Diana Damrau as the famous lovers.
New on SC Public Radio is The Big Listen, a weekly series that explores and explains the sometimes-overwhelming world of podcasts—helping listeners curate their perfect playlist.
As always, we thank you for your loyal support, especially throughout our recent “No Pledge Drive” Pledge Drive and our March Festival. We couldn’t do it without you!
