U.S. INPUT PRE-SELECTION CALL FOR SUBMISSION for Thessaloniki, Greece – May 7 – 11, 2017
Deadline: Wednesday, November 16, 2016

INPUT has organized international television’s most important and influential annual screening conference for more than 35 years. This unique event — held annually in a different country — encourages the development of public service television by screening and debating the most outstanding programs from around the world. 

U.S. producers interested in entering public media to INPUT for consideration must submit to U.S. INPUT Pre-selection coordinated by South Carolina ETV.  The following programs will be highlighted at the conference:

  • Factual Programs / information
  • Factual Programs / culture
  • TV Fiction Programs (no crime please!)
  • New TV Formats
  • Cross Media (focus on VR, 360, TOV, social media-based projects)
  • Tailor-Made for INPUT

The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, November 16, 2016. There is no entry fee but 2 Standard Def DVDs are required for each submission.  Program links, apps or urls will only be accepted for cross media projects.

U.S. INPUT Pre-selection Guidelines and Information:
  1. No Entry Fee!
  2. Deadline:  Submissions must arrive by Wednesday, November 16, 2016.
  3. Eligibility – Submissions must be produced for public media and aired after September 2015.  Programs produced for or distributed by commercial broadcasters including subscription networks are not eligible.
  4. All U.S. programs must go through this U.S. INPUT Pre-selection process to be considered for INPUT 2017 in Thessaloniki, Greece in May.
  5. Submit 2 DVDs.  Standard Definition DVD format is required for U.S. INPUT pre-selection. Complete the U.S. submission form online  and send a hard copy with your DVDs to: Betsy Newman, US INPUT /SCETV, 1041 George Rogers Blvd., Columbia, SC 29201
  6. Public media formats – all genres and up to one hour lengths are eligible.  Programs that run more than ONE HOUR are difficult for INPUT to schedule and rarely make it through to international selection.  If you would like the panel to still consider your film at a longer length, please submit it with this understanding.
  7. INPUT 2017 international selection will be focused on
    • Factual Programs / information

    • Tailor-Made for INPUT
  8. INPUT is evolving and conference organizers are trying new ways to stimulate discussion and meet the needs of delegates. Keep in mind that this is a public television conference and not a traditional film festival or market. 
  9. If you have mini-series or series, please enter ONE episode that best represents the series. You may send the entire series or mini-series as support material. This does not apply to independent film or anthology series.
  10. Selection for the INPUT conference in Thessaloniki, Greece requires that a producer, director or someone closely related to the program attends the conference.   Travel assistance may or may not be available.
