Dear Viewers and Listeners:
Happy New Year! SCETV and S.C. Public Radio have a wonderful line-up of programming and educational initiatives ahead, and we’re starting out the year with a bang!
The long-awaited final season of Downton Abbey comes to ETV this month. This Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning series, the highest rated in PBS history, returns to the English country estate with more intimately interlaced stories of the upper class and their servants.
This month ETV debuts Reel South, an anthology series that highlights the masterful Southern tradition of storytelling, exploring the region and its diverse voices and points of view. A collaboration of SCETV, UNC-TV and the Southern Documentary Fund (SDF), Reel South features half-hour and hour-long independent documentary films which have premiered at film festivals and in theaters—and each one focuses on a unique aspect of the American South.
As S.C. legislators return to Columbia, ETV cameras again bring viewers highlights of sessions, committee meetings and votes from both the House and Senate. State House Today airs Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, beginning January 12, on our ETV World channel.
Our new SCETV logo debuts this month; with the S.C. Public Radio and Endowment logos, we feel the overall look helps brand our efforts to document the best the state has to offer and broadcast it outward.
We wish you all a happy and healthy New Year; and, as always, we value your input and support!
