Susan Cohen

Susan is an industry veteran with over 40 years of experience in various aspects of the hospitality industry including EVP of the SC Hotel and Motel Association, Executive Director of the Gwinnett (GA) CVB, VP of Marketing for the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber, VP of Marketing for Burroughs & Chapin Co. Inc, President and CEO of the Clemson Area Chamber, and most recently Director of Business Development for Charlestowne Hotels. She led her teams in Gwinnett and in Myrtle Beach to two Southeast Tourism Shining Example awards and an American Society of Association Executives for marketing initiatives. 

She has developed partnerships with notable corporations such as Coke, First USA Bank, MCI, ESPN, NASCAR, Ripken Baseball and the Carolina Panthers during her career. 

Susan currently serves on the boards of the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce, International Society of Hotel Associations, Council of State Restaurant Associations, Columbia Chamber of Commerce, Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, and Low Country Hospitality Association. 

Susan is a graduate of Clemson University.

She and husband Gary, also a veteran of the hotel industry and past SCRLA board member, live in Chapin. 

She has many hobbies and proudly confesses that as an alumna and with so many connections to Clemson, she "bleeds orange".
