Luis-Alfredo Garcia is a news reporter with SC Public Radio. He had spent his entire life in Florida and graduated from the University of Florida in 2024. While at the university, Luis-Alfredo covered healthcare, statewide school board races and manatee deaths at the university's public radio station, WUFT News. Following graduation, he spent a year at Central Florida Public Media in Orlando, Florida, as the station's inaugural news fellow. Through hurricane coverage and time spent reporting in rural towns, he discovered his love for public media and the communities it can reach.
