Ken DeBerry
Ken DeBerry is the Director of Education Production at SCETV. A North Carolina native, Ken received his BA in Broadcast Journalism from the University of South Carolina in 1985. Ken was a news videographer at WIS-TV during the first 5 years of his career, the last 2 of which he spent shooting and editing the popular “Carolina Traveler” feature.
For the past 30 years, Ken has devoted his career to educational television and technology. He won an Emmy award in 1995 for his work on “Technology Today,” a program produced for the US Department of Energy by the University of South Carolina. He was nominated for another Emmy in 2013 as the executive producer of ETV’s “Healthy Hannah’s Healthy Choice Heroes” produced for the SC Department of Education.
Ken oversees projects produced through ETV’s Education Division, including the popular education program “Carolina Classrooms.” He produces and directs many of the network’s live streaming programs for the SC Department of Education and other state agencies and associations.
Ken is on the board of the SC Association for Educational Technology (SCAET) and is the technology manager for its annual EdTech Conference. He is also a member of American Mensa®.
