Kardea Brown

Kardea Brown is a chef, television host, and culinary storyteller specializing in Gullah Geechee cuisine. She is the host of Food Network’s Delicious Miss Brown, where she highlights the foodways and cultural traditions of the Sea Islands of South Carolina. Drawing on family recipes and community history, Brown’s work emphasizes the African American roots of Southern coastal cooking and its continuing cultural significance. Brown’s most recent book is Make Do with What You Have: 100 Delicious New Recipes from Favorite Old-School Meals (2025), a cookbook focused on affordable, flavorful Southern dishes and family-rooted food traditions.
