Dr. Faith Polkey served as a panelist on Palmetto Perspectives: Saving Moms Part 2.

Dr. Faith Polkey is the Chief Executive Officer at Beaufort Jasper Hampton Comprehensive Health Services, Inc. She has practiced there for 23 years, providing outpatient and inpatient Pediatrics and Public Health services. She has served in various leadership roles, including Chief of Pediatrics, Chief Clinical Officer, and Interim Chief Medical Officer, and was instrumental in leading BJHCHS through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Polkey served as Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Beaufort Memorial Hospital and was a member of the Board of Trustees for eight years. She has served as a Board member for the Liberty Fellowship and is currently a member of the Aspen Institute’s Global Leadership Network. Dr. Polkey chairs and serves on multiple committees for the National Association of Community Health Centers and is Vice-Chair of the Board for the South Carolina Primary Health Care Association (SCPHCA).

Additionally, Dr. Polkey served for 17 years as Regional Director of Medical Education for AT Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona. She has received recognition for her work, including the SCPHCA Visionary Award and the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award.

Dr. Polkey received her BS in Biology from the University of South Carolina, her MD from Johns Hopkins University, and her MPH from the University of North Carolina. She completed pediatric residency training at Duke University and a second residency in Preventive Medicine at UNC, where she served as Chief Resident. She is board certified in both Pediatrics and General Preventive Medicine and Public Health.
