Dr. Kedralyn L. Folk

Dr. Kedralyn L. Folk served as a panelist on Palmetto Perspectives: Education Special - Smart Thinking in the Age of AI.

Dr. Kedralyn L. Folk brings a strong foundation in instructional innovation, educational technology, and systems-level improvement. A native of Ehrhardt, South Carolina, she began her career in public education after earning a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from South Carolina State University in 2015. As a classroom teacher, she taught elementary grades, developing a deep commitment to equitable learning experiences and student-centered instruction.

Dr. Folk advanced her expertise with a Master of Education in Teaching from the University of South Carolina in 2017 and an Educational Specialist degree in Instructional Technology from Coastal Carolina University in 2019. In 2022, she completed her Doctor of Education in Education Systems Improvement Science at Clemson University.

Before joining USC, Dr. Folk served as an Innovation Program Specialist in Richland School District Two, leading initiatives that integrated technology, design thinking, and collaborative problem-solving to enhance teaching and learning. Her work centered on empowering educators to leverage emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, to enrich instruction, improve access, and support student success.

In her role as an AI Educator, Dr. Folk is committed to helping USC communities navigate the evolving landscape of AI in education. She is passionate about building capacity, fostering innovation, and supporting meaningful, ethical integration of AI tools that advance learning for all.
