The Bluegrass Sound
started in July 1983 on ETV Radio. The series features a mix of both traditional and contemporary bluegrass music, some occasional old time mountain music, interviews with well-known bluegrass performers, and on-site, live recorded bluegrass concerts.

The show's creator, Clarence Dreher, has been Producer since the first show. Hosts over the years have included Patti Just and Dr. Gary Stanton. Dr. Larry Klein has been Associate Producer and host of The Bluegrass Sound since 1989.

12)A monthly bluegrass series takes place on the 4th Saturday of each month, at the Haynes Auditorium in Batesburg-Leesville SC. Doors open 6:30 PM and the show starts at 7:00.

13)Bluegrass Thursday Nights continues at the Allison Creek Presbyterian Church on SC Hwy 274 between Newport and Lake Wylie on the first and third Thursday each month starting at 6:30 PM. The church is located at 5780 Allison Creek Road in York near the Allison Creek Boat Landing.

15)2008 Cotton Harvest Bluegrass Festival takes place on Oct 24-26 in downtown Hartsville. Friday night there will be a Lawnchair concert at Burry Park from 6-9 PM. On Saturday, the action moves to the Center Theater from 1:30-9:30 PM where featured artists include Slope Valley, Church Street Blues, Sounds of Grass and Deeper Shade of Blue.
