Youth Leadership Academy Facilitators Needed

For the ninth year the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, along with the Jefferson Awards Foundation and Leadership Grand Strand, will be holding the annual Youth Leadership Academy on March 7 from 8:30 am-2 pm at Coastal Carolina University. Students will participate in hands on activities to help them build their leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.

Gov. Haley spoke to the press Thursday about how pleased she is with the 50 recommendations from the task force, which has been looking into the issue of domestic violence since early 2015. EOC Issues Report on Time Students Spent Testing

Concern over the amount of time students spend testing is not new or unique to South Carolina. In a new report issued in December 2015, the Education Oversight Committee (EOC) staff worked to quantify how much time students spend testing in public schools. Of the 82 school districts, 39 school districts agreed to participate.
