Legislative Update: Healthcare
With Healthcare continuing to be the talk on the state and national levels, Katie Geer talks wtih Rep. Jim Merrill and Rep. Gilda Cobb Hunter about a plan in the House that would raise the price of doctor visits to some public sector employees, but would spare an increase in premiums to state employees.
Legislative Update: Texting and Driving
A bill to ban texting and driving is getting legislators' attention. Rep. Don Bowen of Anderson sponsored the bill and joined AT&T to show legislators how dangerous texting can be. House Minority Leader Todd Rutherford opposes the bill, stating that it denies drivers their rights and penalties would be too steep. The bill has been sent back to committee.
