The Big Picture

SC Artists

A Branchville man that creates swamp art, a young African American folk artist, and a non-objective female painter born in 1926 – all SC artists that we profile in this week’s The Big Picture. We also sit down with the Columbia Museum of Art to discuss the Turner to Cezanne exhibit, and the executive director of the SC Arts Commission discusses why the arts are so important to our state.

The Swamp Man was awesome. Our whole girl scout troop loved it. It was so interesting. We are planning a fieldtrip to visit his shop. Its great to see someone working with that art form. Not only is it beautiful, but he makes it interesting! Great Job!
