I listened with great interest, the original radio broadcast on NPR then followed with the OL video show, over the weekend. It was an excellent presentation and covered all bases, so to speak.

The representative, spoke about actions taken to motivate change and alternatives to offshore drilling. Everyone now seems to have an idea or solution.

I propose a different approach... and it may seem "crude", pardon the pun, but we really need to provide "incentives". There has to be a profitable and creative approach, a monetary "what's in it for me",.. Other than the use of scare tatics, scientific innuendo, and "the sky is falling"!

If you can't get "we the people" to use our recycle bins. How would one propose you get "Joe Gasuser", to give up his automobile, motobike or lawnmower for something "eco-friendly".

I mean really, consider what you are asking the "lay user" to sacrifice?

The President of the U.S. flies in Air Force One(s), drives in diplomatic convoy(s), and our entire military utilizes diesel or eqivalents to move from one place to the next, just to function, day-to-day.

My point is (and I am Pro-government), the example and leadership should be demonstrated from the top down. At every administrative level, federal, state, and local.

Otherwise, we are literally trying to "blow smoke" about what "we the people" should follow as the next generation alternatives to fossil fuels and real change for the future.
