J.V. Martin Junior High School
It all began with a documentary named the Corridor of Shame; followed by then presidential candidate Barack Obama's visit to a school along the Corridor, JV Martin Junior High School; Ty'Sheoma Bethea's letter to the White House and the subsequent invitation as the president's special guest at his first State of the Union.
After all this national attention, a furniture company in Chicago, Sagus International, decided something should be done for these children. They donated over $250,000 worth of new furniture to the school and The Big Picture takes viewers behind the scenes for a special glimpse into how this all transpired

The people at Sagus are true heroes for taking action to resolve this situation in such a dramatic way that brought attention the poor condition of many of our schools. Hopefully Sagus will be rewarded with the opportunity to upgrade many other school throughout the nation.
