The Big Picture looks in-depth at biomass, the pros and cons, and why SC has the potential to be a leader in this energy source.

For the second time I head the program on bio mass. There needs to be a follow up from the enviromental perspective. I find it scary that all our resources and in this case trees are nothing but commidity to be sold off. South Carolina and most of the southern states just can't wait to sell off all their timber and reap the cash rewards. The Saudi Arabia of bio mass is the S.E. ??????? This is about as misguided and queerish as it is night marish. I can remember when there were forest to roam and streams you could drink from in Georgia....now most of the state, including South Carolina looks like a bombing range or "bombed out".....and you have a program selling bio mass and trying to encourage people to know the value of the timber on their property !!!!!!!!! Even the most primitive people on the planet knows this as the end........Come to your senses !! There has to be a beginning somewhere to plant and preserve and conserve and resist the temptation to become a thoughtless Republican or become spokesman for their values and ideas. r.nash
