SPOLETO FESTIVAL ETV RADIO COVERAGE

They Call Me Arethusa

Wednesday - May 28, 2014

Stelle Di Domani Series presents the play They Call Me Arethusa, through June 7, at Theatre 220, 54 St. Philip Street. Arethusa has been turned into a river, or so everyone thinks. Rather, she has joined a society of women with some very troubling secrets.  College of Charleston alumna Jessica Colie McClellan spent three months in conversation with women from all walks of life who have had experience, either first or second hand, with relationship violance.  In this fraught, but hopeful one-woman show, she weaves Arethusa’s tale from Greek mythology into that of the contemporary every-woman.
