Monday - October 08, 2012
This week we feature the second of three finalists for the Dick and Tunky Riley WhatWorksSC Award for Excellence, to be given at the meeting of the fifth annual S.C. Conference of Public Education Partners on October 17 in Columbia. The award highlights outstanding educational initiatives throughout the state and Conference registration information can be found at http://riley.furman.edu/education/whatworkssc/whatworkssc-award/register-whatworkssc-2012-event. In its second year of operation, the Clemson University Reading Recovery Training Center for South Carolina prepares teachers to work more effectively with primary students who project reading readiness at the 20th percentile and below. It's another example of "what's working" in South Carolina, featured on this week's podcast.
