Speaking of Schools

Walking Works

Monday - July 22, 2013

It's no secret that walking has been identified as one of the best exercises for promoting good health and fighting obesity. Blue Choice Health Plan of SC is sponsoring a program for students in grades K - 5 called Walking Works that builds friendly competition between classes and schools. This program is now beginning its fifth year and Blue Choice of SC will be taking applications from schools to compete in this coming school year's contest. The application deadline is August 15th. Join us as Kristina Dearmon from Blue Choice Health Plan of SC and Ashley Fripp, a special education teacher in Rock Hill School District Three, one of last year's winners,  talk about the contest and benefits for students. You'll agree that "walking works" after listening to this edition of Speaking of Schools!
