W8 2 TXT
Monday - February 27, 2012
W8 2 TXT, a cooperative public service and education campaign aimed at high school students, is featured on this podcast. It is being sponsored by the South Carolina Department of Public Safety and Subway Restaurants in South Carolina, and features a competition among high school students across the state. Five schools having the highest percentage of their students signing a W8 2 TXT pledge in an on-line campaign will be treated to sub sandwiches for their entire student body by Subway. In addition, the Department of Public Safety will send troopers to schools to address safe driving issues to students and, as long as supplies last, wrist bands printed with the W8 2 TXT message are being given to students at Subway restaurants. Winning schools will be announced in April, National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. Students can register at www.w82txtpledge.com and everyone can learn about this worthwhile campaign on this Speaking of Schools podcast!
