This Schools Got Talent (Year Four) and Middle School Science Students Needed for USC summer program
Monday - February 10, 2014
On the podcast this week, Trip Dubard, Executive Director of SC Future Minds, talks about the growing popularity of the annual This Schools Got Talent competition and gives deadlines for submitting entries and also explains how the winner will be chosen. The winner is recognized at the annual Teacher of the Year banqut in April and gets to perform at that gala occasion. Also, Dr. Steven Thompson at USC relates information about the Summer Institute for science teachers. The teacher component for the July 2014 Institute has been filled but teachers listening will hear how they might get to be a part of the 2015 and 2016 sessions. While the teacher component has been filled, the Institute needs about 100 rising 6th, 7th and 8th graders to work with the teachers, providing a great summer learning experience for students with high interest in science.
