Monday - June 01, 2009
Since 1994 nearly 350 teachers in South Carolina have attended and benefitted from the PSTA’s STAR (Strategies for Teacher Advancement and Renewal) program. Through grants and contributions from businesses, the Foundation for Professional Development pays all expenses for the weeklong seminar at the St. Christopher Conference Center on Seabrook Island. Kathy Schwalbe with PSTA is the program’s director; her comments and the experiences of two alumnae –Jade Howard, an English/Language Arts teacher at Summerville High, and Sally Jenkins, who teaches eighth grade English at Schofield Middle School in Aiken County, are offered on this podcast.
