The Importance of Clinical Practice in Preparing Effective Teachers
Monday - August 01, 2011
As Dr. Les Sternberg leaves the Deanship of USC's College of Education, he reflects on his years as the College's Dean and what has been accomplished through the hard work of his staff. Evidently, people are taking notice of what's occurring at USC as the College recently hosted about 70 individuals from across the Nation who will be members of future Boards of Examiners for NCATE, the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education. Many more accomplishments have occurred during Dr. Sternberg's tenure; USC now works with 140 schools in 7 districts in the greater Columbia area and more than 80 percent of teacher preparation courses are being taught on-site in local schools. Hear Dr. Sternberg reflect on the past and future of teacher education at USC on this week's podcast.
