Teaching Fellows, the national Day of Writing and Single Gender classes

On this week's podcast, important information about the Teaching Fellows Scholarships program and the deadline for application which is rapidly approaching: November 1. Qualifying high school seniors who plan to become teachers and work in South Carolina Public Schools become eligible for about $25,000 as they further their education over a four-year period. During this week, teachers and students and teachers will be celebrating the National Day of Writing and the folks connected with the low country writing project at The Citadel and all nine S.C. sites for the National Writing Project are quite involved with this and other activities over the school year that involve effective writing. Also, single gender education continues to be one of the top choices of districts implementing Dr. Jim Rex's School Choice plans and the podcast features dialogue about the Palmetto State's efforts in this area. It's another in a series of interesting conversations on Speaking of Schools.
