Teach for America: Strengthening South Carolina Schools
Monday - September 17, 2012
Last year, just under 30 Teach for America teacher candidates underwent training at Francis Marion University and other places, both in and out of the state, and have filled teaching positions in the Pee Dee and Lowcountry. This year, more than one hundred of these alternatively trained teachers will be making their way into our state's classrooms. On this week's podcast, we'll hear from the Teach For America-S.C. executive director and one of the teachers from that first group, a science teacher at Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School. You'll really enjoy meeting these two and hearing what they have to say on this edition of Speaking of Schools!
