Teach For America and Celebrate National Library Week
Monday - April 08, 2013
This week we'll check in with Josh Bell, the Executive Director of Teach For America in SC and learn how and why the organization is experiencing unprecedented growth nationally and in the Palmetto State. The program has expanded in the two years since it came to SC, and there's more demand than ever for teachers. More recent graduates, career changers and military retirees are on their way into the classroom as the third recruiting period has passed and the program has requests for personnel in more schools than ever. Also in the podcast Curtis Rogers, Director of Communications with the SC State Library, invites listeners to attend an open house at the Library during National Library Week. The celebration is April 14 - 17 and on the 17th from 2 until 4 pm the State Library opens its doors for behind the scenes tours and much, much more. Be sure to join us for this week's Speaking of Schools!
