Student Writing Contests, A Summer Language Opportunity and Safe Schools
Monday - November 01, 2010
This week on the podcast we'll be previewing two interesting and exciting writing contests, one from the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs and the second from the South Carolina State Library. Students participating in the first write an essay responding to "If I had $100, I would..." and in the other, Letters About Literature, address how the work of an author, living or dead, changed their perspective on the world. Information regarding both contests are available in the News Releases section of the Department of Education website, www.ed.sc.gov. Also on the program, you can learn about the exciting summer language program growing out of a partnership with Wofford College and Middlebury College in Vermont and catch up on what's happening in the Safe Schools Office at the South Carolina Department of Education.
