Single Gender Update, Poetry Out Loud and the Empowering Girl’s Symposium
Monday - October 03, 2011
This week's podcast features three conversations that will update listeners on what's happening in single-gender programs around the state. We caught up with David Chadwell who'll update us on this particular option that many parents and students have across South Carolina. Frances Keel from the Arts Commission reacquaints teachers who have participated in Poetry Out Loud, a national recitation contest, about this years program and extends an invitation to schools that haven't participated in the past to get on board. We'll also hear from Susan Alford with Clemson's Youth Learning Institute who is coordinating the Sixth Annual Girl's Symposium that will be held later this month in Columbia; program topics included are bullying, fiscal responsibility, girl's sexuality and more. Get updates on these three topics on this week's Speaking of Schools.
