Speaking of Schools

Poetry Out Loud, S. C. State Museum exhibit and a partnership benefiting state schools

Monday - September 28, 2009

Several conversations merit attention from this week's podcast including news about the Poetry Out Loud competition, a state-wide recitation contest that attracted over 4,000 high school students last year. The Chief Curator of Natural History at the South Carolina State Museum provides listeners with an overview of a current exhibit: Deadly Medicine - Creating the Master Race - and a conversation with the Executive Director of Palmetto Horizon will also be featured. Palmetto Horizon has recently partnered with Donors Choose to enable anyone who wishes to contribute to s specific South Carolina school projects to do so directly through the DonorsChoose.org website. And we certainly want to salute the five state public schools that have been named 2009 Blue Ribbon Schools by the U.S. Department of Education. That's the lineup for this week's podcast!
