Plans Evolve Into Actions: The DHEC All-Health Team and Girl Scout Troop 2303
Sunday - January 01, 2012
-->
Each month during the school year, the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) awards $500 to a school, youth community or youth faith group that adopts a project to promote good health. In this competition, DHEC looks for projects that create some type of system, policy or environmental change. This week's podcast features the troop Leader and two troop members who have made a difference in the eating and exercise habits of their peers, parents and others in the community. Through the actions and advocacy of this Girl Scout Troop, they display how healthy practices at a young age provide the best guarantee for healthy choices as an adult.
