Parental Support for First-Time College Students

Monday - August 09, 2010

Students will be untying apron strings over the next few weeks and heading to in-state and out-of-state to college campuses. While most of us are aware of some of the hurdles these first-year students will be facing, the parents, particularly those who are experiencing a child leaving home for college for the first time, want to do anything they can to help promote their child's college success. In a podcast directed at these parents, faculty and staff at Lander University offer suggestions to help insure a successful transition to college life. These experienced educators and support personnel have a wealth of experience in dealing with the common and uncommon situations that arise for the novice college student (and their parents). Join us as we examine some of the challenges people face as students tackle higher education.
