Speaking of Schools

Opportunities provided through South Carolina’s Technical Colleges

Monday - May 24, 2010

This week's podcast will be an annual visit with a Vice President in the state's Technical College system who'll update us on many of the opportunities available through the sixteen-college system. The mission of the System is to provide learning opportunities that promote the economic and human resource development of the state and Sandlappers have been taking advantage of these opportunities for decades. Fifty two per cent of all undergraduates in SC public higher education were enrolled in the SC Technical College System in Fall 2009 and ninety seven percent of all students enrolled at a SC technical college in Fall 2009 were residents of SC. In terms of undergraduate headcount enrollment, three of the state’s five largest public colleges and universities in Fall 2009 were technical colleges. Learn about relevant and effective programs that advance workforce development, promote economic development and ensure attainment of student learning goals on this podcast.
