Montessori Schools: A Popular School Choice Option

Monday - February 28, 2011

Montessori schools around the state and nation are celebrating Montessori Education Week, commemorating the 104th year of Montessori Education. On this week's podcast, we'll be talking with administrators, teachers and students involved in both public and private Montessori Schools in South Carolina. Montessori programs feature multi-aged classrooms and foster cooperation rather than competition. Respect for others and the environment, and responsibility for one's own learning are cornerstones of the Montessori philosophy. Montessori teachers are specially trained facilitators who guide students to explore their world and think creatively and you'll hear how students are engaged in learning and in doing service for local and overseas charities. Celebrate the week and learn more about Montessori Education on this week's podcast.
