Montessori Schools: A Popular School Choice Option

Just over 100 years ago, Maria Montessori began her work in Rome, Italy with mentally disabled children from the slums of the city. Today, children of all ability levels benefit from the hands-on learning approach, in which students learn at their own pace using specially designed, self-correcting materials. In Montessori schools, older children teach and model for younger ones in the school's multi-age classrooms.
