Improving Reading in South Carolina Middle and High Schools
Monday - June 22, 2009
The Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) is a nonprofit organization in Atlanta that works with 16 member states to improve preK-12 and higher education. A new report that SREB has published, available on SREB’s web site www.sreb.org, is called “A Critical Mission: Improving Adolescent Reading in SREB States.” This report is getting a lot of attention nationally in the press and from education groups. Alan Richard of SREB and South Carolina’s own Ronny Townsend, an SREB Board Member, discuss the report and what it means to South Carolina and the Southeastern Region.
