Speaking of Schools

High Schools That Work, Career/Technical Education and SREB

Monday - August 30, 2010

What's changing about what is taught - and how it's taught - in career and technical high school courses? What's the status of the High Schools That Work program in South Carolina? What's happening here and in other states served by the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) to develop more advanced career-and-technical courses for high school-age students in high-skill, high-wage fields that are emerging? Representatives from SREB including the founder of High Schools That Work are joined by a staff member of the Career and Technical Education Office at the State Department of Education to pursue these questions and more on this week's edition of the podcast.
