Finding Money for College, an annual ETV and Department of Education telecast is on the horizon, and students and parents considering post-high school studies need to mark their calendars. We'll preview the two-hour show coming up on January 29 during this week's podcast. SCEconomics, operating out of the Moore School of Business at USC and formerly known as the South Carolina Council for Economic Education will be sponsoring three workshops during February for K-8 teachers. The workshops, designed to enable teachers to integrate economics education into other subject areas will take place in various parts of the state. The President of SCEconomics and two classroom practicioners will be joining us for our discussion and we'll also feature news about a statewide contest for high school students sponsored by the Spartanburg County League of Women Voters. The three winners in the contest on Judicial Diversity win IPads for themselves and their schools. We'll close this week's podcast by visiting with Dr. Karen Woodward, Superintendent in Lexington School District #1 who relates some of the District strategies employed to achieve the School Report Card "Excellent" rating. Lots of information for parents, teachers and students on this week's Speaking of Schools!
