Financial Literacy, L.I.F.E. (Learning Is For Everyone) and SC-SIC Recap
Monday - April 02, 2012
This week on the podast we'll be telling you about four opportunities during April for participation in a Financial Literacy webinar from the State Credit Union. This webinar is in observation of National Financial Literacy Month and is entitled: Teaching Children about Money: Raise a Financially Savvy Child. Participants will learn how to communicate with children about money, basic teaching concepts about money, age-specific teaching opportunities and how to set a good financial example. Another highlight of this week's podcast will be a description of Don Bailey's new book, LIFE, Learning Is For Everyone. Bailey is Executive Director of the College Transition Connection, an organization that works with select colleges and universities in the state to design, create and fund transition and post-secondary opportunities for young adults with intellectual disabilities. His personal account of his son's story is riveting and all proceeds from his book will go to funding scholarships. We'll also recap the SC-SIC meeting of March 25th and learn about this year's Riley Award winner and runners up. A full, informative podcast this week on Speaking of Schools.
