This week’s program deals with two interesting topics as we feature conversations about financial literacy. The State Credit Union is sponsoring a Scholarship Program and students, teachers and administrators are eligible to compete for cash awards. Also, John Gannon, Senior Vice President for Investor Education with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority has some great tips for managing finances. Leading off our podcast is our visit with Pat Kinsey, Director of Policy Services with the South Carolina School Boards Association. “Blazin’ The Way” is a program the SCSBA and DHEC have partnered in to encourage school boards to adopt policies to disallow tobacco use of any kind at school and at all school events. A number of districts have adopted the policy and five districts have received $1500 “Blazin’ The Way” awards for their work in this area.
