Early Childhood Education, Museum Exhibits and a school for children who learn differently

On a recent podcast (June 21), Susan DeVenny, Director of the First Steps to School Readiness program, discussed the newly-mandated formation of the South Carolina Early Childhood Advisory Council, how the council would receive input and several other items related to ECE in SC. This week, Yvette Sanchez Fuentes, the Director of the Office of Head Start in the Office of Health and Human Services, along with Ms. DeVenny take the earlier discussion one step further as they look at the Head Start Program and Advisory Councils recently created throughout the country. Also this week, Pirates, Privateers and Bucanners, an exhibit at the SC State Museum is promoted and there's also a discussion with the owner of The Barclay School, a Columbia-based private school designed to accommodate children who learn differently.
