Chinese Immersion Schools and Programs

As the United State and China become more dependent on each other, especially in an economic sense, there is a growing interest in acquainting young children with the Chinese language and culture. Programs exist in Beaufort County and are scheduled to open in the fall in Lexington. A Chinese immersion Charter School, East Point Academy, will also open in the fall and pre-enrollment numbers have already exceeded the goals for the first year. Speaking of Schools will look in-depth at the need for these schools and programs, the relationship between the United States and Chinese governments as teachers are exchanged and we'll talk with parents who have been involved in planning programs for the new charter school.
