Career Education A Reality in Horry County Middle School
Monday - August 06, 2012
The Education and Economic Development Act of 2005 (EEDA) created vocational clusters that students may select from early in their school careers. Schools across the state have effectively implemented the act, one of them being Forestbrook Middle School in Horry County. This week on Speaking of Schools, we’ll hear about some of the opportunities students have to examine career choices. The program about Forestbrook, produced by SCETV for The Department of Education’s Office of eMedia, features students, school staff and area professionals commenting on how the course offerings have opened doors for students. You’ll also hear about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) courses at the middle school and that will take us into a conversation about the SC STEM Summit to be held this week in Lexington. A great lineup on this week’s podcast!
