Autism awareness, Pirates exhibit, summer geography for teachers and Furman’s Bridges Program
Monday - April 12, 2010
It's Autism Awareness Month, and on this week's podcast the President of the National Education Association gives us some strategies for parents and teachers to improve education for children with autism, plus he details the free access to a new video that provides information needed when looking to identify the characteristics of autism as well as providing techniques on how to work successfully with children that have the disability. We also have conversations with the Chief Curator of Natural History at the SC State Museum about the Pirates, Privateers and Buccaneers exhibit which opened recently, the Director of the South Carolina Geographic Alliance regarding a special summer workshop for teachers and the Director of Furman's Bridges to a Brighter Future program. Lots of great information on this week's podcast!
