Academic Integrity, college awareness for ninth graders and a Teacher of the Year recognition
Monday - November 09, 2009
Academic Integrity is receiving renewed attention at higher education institutions as recent extensive research shows academic dishonesty is pervasive and becoming worse. The Director of the Center for Academic Integrity at Clemson opens our podcast this week with a look at this problem and what is being done to enhance the idea of academic integrity in middle and secondary schools. A great deal of information is also available at the Center's web site, www.academicintegrity.org. The podcast will include news about a Commit To College Day in the Clover School District where ninth graders will be getting information on higher education opportunities in South Carolina and there's also a visit with the Palmetto Unified School District's Teacher of the Year. The School District, of course, serves the 24,000 men and women incarcerated in facilities operated by the Department of Corrections and we'll recognize this educator's distinctive honor on this week's podcast.
