A Keynote Address Preview, Parental Involvement and Teacher Recognition

Public education advocate Jamie Vollmer, author of Schools Cannot Do It Alone: Building Support for America's Public Schools, will be in Greenville this week to address a function sponsored by the Public Education Partners recognizing the contributions of Michelin North America to public education in South Carolina. Mr. Vollmer was kind enough to preview his address for the podcast and you'll enjoy our conversation with this engaging former South Carolinian. Also, NEA Vice-President Lily Eskelsen will look back on Parent's Day observed during American Education Week and offer insight on the necessity of parent involvement in their child's schooling and Dr. Mark Del Mastro of the College of Charleston will reflect on the recent award ceremony held in recognition of the Spanish Teacher of the Year.
