Troxler’s Truckers: Memories of Vietnam
Calling themselves “Troxler’s Truckers” after their commanding officer, the Army Reserve unit known as the 319th Transportation Company was sent to the Vietnam War in 1968. During their eleven month tour of duty they drove their trucks over one million miles delivering ammunition, supplies and soldiers to bases around South Vietnam. Using film footage, photographs, and audio recordings made by the soldiers themselves, this film explores the Vietnam experience for the men of this Augusta, Georgia based unit. Interviews made at reunions and other gatherings allow the soldiers’ own voices to tell their story—a story of stress, fatigue, hard work, and humor. Produced and directed by James Henderson.
